Jyotsna Puri (or Jo) is the Assistant Vice-President responsible for IFAD's Strategy and Knowledge Department. She leads the strategic work of the institution in the main targeted areas, namely agriculture, climate, gender issues, nutrition, youth and social inclusion. It sets out the approach to judiciously guiding program design and implementation based on evidence, thereby contributing to resource mobilization and supporting IFAD's global mandate to provide innovative advice on policy development. policies on these themes. Before joining IFAD, she worked for the Green Climate Fund, International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), the United Nations Environment Program, the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program. She is also an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University, New York, where she previously worked as a researcher. She has published articles in numerous academic journals and newspapers, and has served on the boards of several development organizations. In 2019, the Global Landscapes Forum listed her as one of 16 influential women working to restore the Earth. She holds a PhD and a master's degree in agricultural and resource economics, as well as a master's degree in development economics.
